Governor's Message
Dear Iowan:
I-JOBS will help our state recover from the worst floods in Iowa history and from the worst economic recession since the Great Depression. I-JOBS will create or preserve thousands of jobs, and in the process strengthen our economy.
For Iowans, I-JOBS will mean an investment in every county of our state, to improve our roads and bridges, help education, complete construction of the Iowa Veterans Home, promote renewable energy, bolster flood preparedness, and improve water quality.
And because of our sound fiscal management, we can make this happen by using existing state gaming revenue, requiring no increase in taxes.
This web site is a key part of our work to be transparent about what I-JOBS will mean to our state. Over the next several weeks and months, information will be regularly added to show how the funds are being spent and, most of all, how the funds are helping build a smarter, safer and stronger Iowa.
